About Rural Preservation Partners

Rural Preservation Partners was founded in 2007 by Sheriffa Jones.  RPP is a business incubation project of the Iowa Lakes RC&D.  I'm a historic preservation consultant/architectural historian and an Iowa native.  I bring seven years experience in historic preservation.  I've worked in three states: Iowa, Oregon, and Washington on various types of historic preservation, and community and economic development projects.  I also bring experience working with local, state, and federal agencies. 

I completed a M.S. in Historic Preservation with a certificate (minor) in Nonprofit Management from the University of Oregon in June 2006. 

Although I tend to concentrate on rural communities in Northwest Iowa, do not hesitate to contact me if you are a community or county outside Northwest Iowa and you need cultural resource/historic preservation assistance.  I'm recognized by the Iowa State Historic Preservation Office as an Architectural Historian; therefore I can work throughout the entire state.  I'm also listed through the State of South Dakota's Historic Preservation Office as a consultant.  In both states, I meet the Secretary of Interior's Standards as an Architectural Historian.
