Why Your Gift Matters
As a nonprofit, the Iowa Lakes RC&D derives its
income from donations, current programs, and from
the USDA NRCS. Since
this does not cover the total costs for the
nonprofit nor does it allow for the RC&D to expand programs, it is necessary to raise additional
funds through gifts from
individual supporters, businesses, and other private sources. The
Iowa Lakes RC&D areas of interest are: Environment, Water quality,
Viability of Rural Communities and Tourism.
The Iowa Lakes RC&D has had several projects in
the past that work towards answering questions regarding
sustainability, renewable energy, and conservation.
In an age when "green" and "sustainability" are on
the tips of everyone's tongue, we are trying to
increase that awareness throughout northwest Iowa.
Your gift will assist us in developing new and
expand current projects.
Some of the projects that the RC&D
board adopts provide a service to the public but are not necessarily
income generators. Ongoing projects, such as computer recycling and
environment education programs, are funded primarily by the local
RC&D board. Contributions to the RC&D will help these local projects
continue and allow new projects to be developed.
