Emmet County Projects
Estherville,
Technical Assistance Network (TAN):
Completed a site
inventory form to help determine that the old fire
station in downtown Estherville is eligible for listing on the National Register of
Historic Places. The building owner recently
purchased the building and has plans to open a
coffee shop and book store.
Estherville, Old Lincoln School,
1901: The Estherville Lincoln School was
the very first project that RPP worked on. The
Estherville Art Center wanted to purchase the
building for their programming, the school board did
not accept their offer. There were other
offers that were brought to the table, the school
board again turned the offer down.
Unfortunately, RPP came to the project to late and
the fate of the building had basically been decided.
The building was demolished winter 2007.
R.I.P. Old Lincoln School, you were built like a
fortress, educated many, and you were an anchor for
the neighborhood for many years.
